Hon. Gail Norton
Secretary of the Interior
1849 C Street, NW
Washington, D.C. 20240

Dear Secretary Norton:

I am writing to express my utter disbelief and outrage and the way you are conducting the Department of the Interior. Do you have any shame at all? I read this morning in the paper that an email was sent to park superintendents all over the country urging them to cut back, close visitor centers, and terminate ranger led programs but to do so secretly so as not to alert the public or draw media attention or criticism. This is outrageous and unsupportable and I am calling on you as the ward of our national treasures to retract this request and instead fully fund all our national lands.

I would also urge you to prosecute those radicals on the Kane County, Utah City Council who rode all over Grand Staircase National Monument removing park signs. This is a federal offense and a felony and I am asking that you fully prosecute these brigands and throw them in jail for the longest sentence possible.

Finally I am urging you to rehire the rangers that were recently fired from Grand Staircase National Monument. This 2 million acre park cannot afford a cut back in rangers. With all those lunatics in Kane County this beautiful and important area needs all the park service support staff possible. Please do your job and protect our parks!

Thank you for your attention to these important issues.

Sincerely,

Michelle Brodie
