 I went for a walk at Hayward Regional Shoreline January 16, 2010. It was mostly overcast and gray but the sun came out briefly--just long enough for it to warm over 56 degrees the temperature below which butterflies cannot fly-- and this tiny little Pygmy Blue Butterfly, less than 1 cm, appeared on the pickle weed just long enough for me to get this picture.
